There’s nothing better than kicking off the holiday season by listening to Christmas carols. That’s what the Ars Musica Vocal Ensemble is offering with its grand Christmas concert on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 2 pm., at Campbellton’s First United Church.
The vocal ensemble will present the most beautiful Christmas songs from its repertoire. The audience will be treated to a varied musical program, featuring works from a variety of eras and styles, including the traditional carols that everyone likes to hear again at this time of year.
According to Pierre Lavoie, director of the vocal ensemble, all the singers are looking forward to taking to the stage to share their love of music. The concert is entitled “Peace on Earth”, in reference to a wish often heard in Christmas music. “Again this year, current events remind us that we live in a world where conflict and hatred seem to be more and more present in our lives. Whatever one’s personal beliefs or convictions, we believe that Christmas is the perfect time to send out a message of peace and love,” says Lavoie.
Tickets are $20 and on sale at the Restigouche Gallery, on reservation by writing to: EnsembleArsMusica@gmail.com, and from members of the vocal ensemble. Admission is free for children 12 and under.
The vocal ensemble is directed by Pierre Lavoie and accompanied on piano and organ by Yvan LeBlond. For information and tickets: EnsembleArsMusica@gmail.com.
