CAMP-DRUG BUST RM / RCMP MON AM
A man was arrested following the seizure of quantities of drugs at two locations in Tremblay, N.B
On Friday, RCMP searched two locations in Tremblay, where they seized quantities of what is believed to be cocaine, cannabis, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, ammunition and money.
A 51-year-old man from Tremblay was arrested at the scene, and released pending a future court appearance.
The investigation is continuing.

CAMP/MEDICAL CENTER RM / TRIBUNE MON AM
A former Atholville restaurant could be converted into a professional office for medicle services after planning was approved last week.
The building at 1 Savoie Ave. would be turned into a chiropractor, message therapy psychology and similar service facility if all goes smoothly.
According to the Tribune – The planning review and adjustment committee of the Restigouche Regional Service Commission approved the planning last wednesday but may impose conditions, depending on the planning process.

There’s been anoher death from COVID-19…the province’s 25th.
It’s a person in their 80s at the Manoir Bellevue which has been struggling with an outbreak for the last month. It’s the sixth death associated with the facility.
Public Health also announced four new cases of the coronavirus and with recoveries the number of active cases is now 87.
There’s 1 active in each of the Miramichi zone 7 and Bathurst zone 6 region.
There are 8 active in the Moncton zone 1 region.
There are 3 active in the zone 2 Saint John region.
(Campbelltois theonly health zone rightnow with no active cases.)
The great majority are in the Edmundston region.

NB/SJ-YOUTH CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACT RM / TELEGRAPH MON AM
The Child and Youth Advocate says the way police are tracking down group home runaways with arrest warrents is concerning.
Advocate Norm Bosse is questioning whether the missing person reports being sent out violate the Youth Criminal Justice Act, which protects young offender’s identities.
When asked about the legality of identifying a youth in care who is subject to arrest, Saint John Police tell the Telegraph-Journal they work with the guardians of the youth in order to locate them safely, and only share information with permission.
Bosse says he’s still waiting on the department of public safety to reply.

New Brunswickers inthenorth felt a small earthquake yesterday morning
A 2.6-magnitude quake was recorded south of Mount Carleton Provincial Park shortly after 4:00am. 2.6 is considered small and isn’t usually expected to cause damage…but it can shake people up whohear it.
Stephen Crane, a research scientist with Natural Resources Canada says they haven’t had residents report feeling the eathquake but it’s important to track it regardless. According to CBC, there has been 125 earthquakes of 2.0 magnitude or greater in New Brunswick in the last 10 years, the largest being 3.7.

New Brunswick is reporting three new cases of COVID-19.
Health officials say all three are in the Edmundston region.
The cases involve a person under 19, a person in their 80s and an individual in their 90s.
The province currently has 87 active cases.

Three people escaped unhurt from a weekend house fire in Hampton.
The blaze on Viola Avenue late Friday evening destroyed the bungalow.
A couple and their adult son have been helped by the Red Cross in receiving emergency lodging and financial support for meals, winter clothing purchases and some other essentials.

Across Canada, over 2,300 new cases were reported yesterday bringing the active case count to over 31,000…with 44 more Canadians losing their battle against COVID.
The country’s leading physician says Canada is at what she calls a ”critical juncture” in the fight against fast-spreading variants of COVID-19.
Dr. Theresa Tam says public health measures must be maintained as more cases of the more contagious variants are being reported across the country.

In the NHL…the Senators clipped the Canadiens 3-2 in overtime. Another overtime game saw the Jets beat the Canucks 4-3. David Pastrnak scored a hat-trick in a 7-3 Bruins victory over the Flyers.
NBA action saw the Raptors down Philadelphia 110-103. The Celtics lost
120-115 to the Pelicans.
