Mask use in public schools in Zone 1, 5 mandatory; few exceptions

Education Minister Dominic Cardy announced that all students in Zone 1 and Zone 5 are now required to wear masks at all time, with few exceptions.

All students K – 12 on busses must wear a mask even when seated with loved ones

Students in Grade 9 – 12 students must wear masks at all times at school, with the exception of eating or physical education. During breaks and outside masks must be worn.

Students K – 8 must wear masks at all times except when kids are working by themselves quietly, while eating or during physical education.

Extra curricular activities, inter-mural sports and scholastic sports are suspended.

These measures are in effect only while the zones are in orange phase.
